About the course
The course is aimed at teachers or doctoral students without previous training in teaching and learning. The course is practically oriented and you will, among other things, work on mapping your own teaching. There will be opportunity for reflection on experiences of teaching and being taught. You will also start writing a teaching portfolio.
The course is given each semester by the faculty's teaching support unit, PLUS.

The course comprises three weeks of full-time studies (4.5 credits).

Yes, the course fulfils the Swedish Council for Higher Education’s goals for qualifying training in teaching and learning in higher education.
Cost
The course is free of charge for teaching staff and doctoral students at the faculty. If you can’t attend, you need to cancel your registration at least 14 days prior to the start of the course, otherwise your department will be charged SEK 9 900 for the course cost.
Next course start
The course is given each semester.
- Spring 2025: The course starts on 31 March and runs between the weeks 14-18. The application will open shortly.
- Autumn 2025: The course will be given in the weeks 47-51.
Priority order for admission
- Applicant with teaching position.
- Doctoral student with planned teaching (you need a certificate of planned teaching from your main supervisor or director of doctoral studies. The template for this certificate can be found in the application form when it is open and also here: Download the template for certified note (Word, 113 kB). You need to upload the completed certificate in the application form).
- Doctoral student at the end of the doctoral studies, provided that the course is stated as a compulsory course in the student's study plan.

About the course
The course is aimed at teaching staff and doctoral students without previous training in teaching and learning. The course is a short version of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education – Theory and Practice, and lacks the project part where participants immerse themselves in a pedagogical subject of their choice.

About the course
The self-study course is aimed at those who are curious about teaching and learning in higher education, but currently lack the opportunity to attend a longer introductory course. The course consists of video lectures and assignments that you complete at your own pace.
You will learn about:
- Theories and concepts used in higher education teaching
- Tools for thinking about teaching and learning from different perspectives
- Support for reflecting on your own practice and development as a teacher

The course is an continuation course, which aims to prepare participants for an expanded role in course design and delivery in a Swedish higher education context. The course is offered by the Division for Higher Education Development and is open to teachers and staff with teaching assignments.

About the course
Sustainability, equal opportunities, ethics and reflection are examples of things that should be included in all higher education. But how can we teach this so that it adds value to students' learning of science? In six independent workshops, you will meet invited guests, explore good examples, tools and resources, and exchange experiences and ideas on how science teaching and learning can be improved.
During the course, you will also carry out a project (individually or in groups).

Preparatory course for prospective associate professors
The two modules below are mandatory for those who are applying for the title Associate Professorship (docent). You can take the modules in any order you wish.

About the course
The course is given by the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) and is aimed at teachers who will supervise, or are already supervising, doctoral students at Lund University.
The course is taught in English during the autumn term.

Course for assistant supervisors
Mandatory course for those who will have a role as assistant supervisor and who have not yet completed a supervisor training course.

About the course
The course is aimed at those who are about to be appointed as assistant supervisors, but do not have supervisor training.
The course consists of two parts. The first part provides knowledge of the basic formalities of doctoral education with a focus on rules and systems at the Faculty of Science. The second part provides insights into the dual role of supervisor and researcher, and into supervision as teamwork.
