Annual organisational discussions – the faculty’s internal follow up
This page contains information about how the faculty works to follow up and evaluate the quality of the courses and programmes, and the quality enhancement work as a whole.
About organisational discussions
The annual organisational discussions between the faculty management, departmental management and students’ unions form a hub for the work to follow up and evaluate the quality of the courses and programmes and the enhancement work as a whole.
The organisational discussions have common themes each year, broadly structured according to the Swedish Higher Education Authority’s assessment areas for courses and programmes. The themes that the faculty is evaluating in the years 2019–2024 are based on Lund University’s common quality criteria, and follow a six-year cycle.
The organisational discussions include elements of both evaluation and follow-up of the quality of courses and programmes. Ahead of the part that concerns evaluation, the departments compile self-evaluations and other documentation that concerns the quality of courses and programmes. The self-evaluations are based on instructions with questions about each theme/assessment area, which the faculty sends to the departments ahead of each discussion. The results then form the basis of development plans and the planning of specific development projects.

Development plans 2019–2024
If the departments’ self-evaluations reveal development needs in a particular assessment area, the faculty is to produce a development plan for that area. The faculty does this in consultation with the departments.
Follow-up of development plans 2019–2024
Results of the measures defined in each development plan and in specific development projects, will be reported to the faculty board at the end of the six-year cycle.
