Organisation and campus development

An overview of what is happening in the faculty's two major development projects.

About the projects

Coordination of a joint department

By working on coordinating the departments that conduct research and education in environment, climate, geology and physical geography, the Faculty of Science aims to further strengthen these very important strategic areas. This means that the Centre for Environmental and Climate Science, the Department of Geology and the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science may be coordinated in a joint department located at the Geocentre.

Establishment in Science Village

Activities that are currently part of the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry, together with parts of the Department of Electrical and Information Technology, will be jointly established in the Science Village. In a parallel track, Nanolab Science Village will also be established in the area. Together they will create an interdisciplinary environment with strong international appeal close to the research facilities MAX IV and ESS.

Campus

The strategic investments in organisational development will contribute to the development of the faculty's campus environments. The aim is to create even better conditions for education and research through holistic development.
