The Faculty Board decided not to proceed with the establishment of Stage 2 in Science Village in accordance with the proposal on critical mass, and therefore does not support continued planning of NanoLab Science Village (Stage 1). An investigation into the renovation of the Physics Building (Fysicum) will be prioritised. In parallel, a forward-looking review of the long-term development of physics at Lund University will also be initiated.

The faculty management received positive feedback from the Board regarding the handling, transparency and discussions related to the Science Village issue. The Dean also expressed thanks to Professor Knut Deppert, project manager, and Charlotte von Brömssen, project manager from LU Estates, for their tireless and complex work over the years of investigations.
Revised guidelines for the research centre LINXS, as well as a revised rules of procedure for the faculty and delegations to the Dean, were adopted and will enter into force on 1 January 2026.
The Faculty Board approved the proposed overall budget for 2026, as well as changes to course requirements for a general Master’s degree, to take effect from the spring semester of 2026.
Prioritisation of new academic appointments for 2026 was discussed, and the Dean presented the working group’s proposals for honorary doctors.
The final Board meeting of the year was held at the LINXS premises in The Loop. Following the meeting, the Board received a brief presentation of the activities at LINXS and Altitude Meetings, and was also shown The Hall, the concert venue in The Loop, where the 2026 graduation ceremony will be held.
