Keynote abstract
Riding the teaching rollercoaster: framing our approaches to change in education.
Dr. Rachel Forsyth.
In this session, we will think together about how we can approach change and external demands on teaching whilst maintaining and reinforcing teacher agency and autonomy, and even contributing to our personal career development. We will look at accessible ways to build more effective and inclusive classroom relationships, based on research about trust and inclusive practices. As a bonus, we will use Generative AI as a case study of responding to external factors whilst maintaining subject integrity and developing your career.
Rachel Forsyth is a senior educational developer in the Unit for Educational Services, Lund University. She is the author of Confident Assessment in Higher Education (Sage, 2022) and co-author of GenAI in Higher Education: Redefining Teaching and Learning (Bloomsbury, 2025) as well as many articles on inclusive practices, higher education assessment and trust.
