With over 40 exhibitors and thousands of visitors, this year’s ATLAS Career Fair was the largest to date! The annual career fair, organised by LUNA – the Science Student Union – with support from the Faculty of Science, brings together students, PhD candidates, companies and organisations with a shared focus: creating opportunities for the natural scientists of the future.

ATLAS offers undergraduate and Master’s students, as well as PhD candidates from the Faculty, the opportunity to explore potential career paths, build connections, and gain insight into life after graduation – whether that means jobs, internships, research opportunities, or simply a bit of inspiration.

Over the course of a full day at Kemicentrum, the venue was transformed into a vibrant meeting place. The day began with an energising welcome address from LUNA's Head of Corporate Relations and project manager for the career fair, Chelsea Ann Connell, together with the Vice-Dean for education, Professor Charlotta Turner, and Vice-Dean for research education, Professor Karin Rengefors. Together, they symbolically cut an invisible ribbon officially opening the fair.

Soon after, the corridors quickly filled with curious students, eager to network, explore collaborations, and pick up practical advice for the next steps after their studies.

Also on site this year was a popular drop-in photo station, where visitors could have new, professional profile pictures taken for LinkedIn and CVs – a valuable boost when it comes to applying for jobs.

“ATLAS is the highlight of our year”

Chelsea Ann Connell describes ATLAS as the natural highlight of the union’s efforts to strengthen ties between students and the professional world:

“We want ATLAS to be seen as more than just a one-day event—it’s the result of a year-long commitment. We've organised seminars, CV and LinkedIn workshops, and created spaces for students to meet potential employers. To see it all come together today is incredibly rewarding,” she says.

The 2025 edition truly lived up to the phrase “bigger than ever”—expanding from 31 to over 40 exhibitors and offering a broader range of seminars and participating organisations. From Swedish consultancies like SWECO and WSP to international players such as CERN and the European Commission, the fair reflected the wide array of career paths open to science students. LU Innovation was also present, supporting students interested in entrepreneurship. The fair even attracted international companies, with representatives travelling from as far as Spain and Switzerland.

— “We’ve made a conscious effort to broaden the fair—both in terms of student participation and the diversity of companies. It was especially great to see more mathematics students engaging this year,” says Chelsea.

Looking ahead – and reaching further

As ATLAS continues to grow, so does its impact. The event filled every available space at Kemicentrum, with seminars and exhibition booths in every corner.

— “It’s fantastic to see the entire building come alive like this. We hope everyone — both exhibitors and students — left feeling inspired, encouraged, and excited about the future. This year’s theme was collaboration, and we hope that spirit was present in every conversation and connection made today. It’s all about taking one step closer to what’s next,” says Chelsea Ann Connell.
