Semesters and periods

The academic year at Lund University is divided into the Autumn and Spring semesters (or terms). Each semester is divided into two periods. For the academic year 2020/2021, these four periods are as follows:

  • Period 1: 31 August–30 October
  • Period 2: 2 November–17 January (Christmas break is 22 December–6 January)
  • Period 3: 18 January–23 March
  • Period 4: 24 March–6 June

Most courses run over one or two full periods (give or take a few days).
