1. Needs analysis prior to recruitment
The initiation of recruitment is not formalised in legislation, agreements or local regulations. It is instead based on strategic considerations at the department and discussions between the department and the faculty management. The department has a key role in the needs analysis and the drawing up of a person specification. The Faculty of Science prefers a recruitment team with representatives of both the department and the faculty’s HR team to work together to draw up a person specification.
Procedure for academic appointments
For academic appointments, the department is to present the grounds for the desired recruitment orally to the faculty’s presiding committee and management council. There is an instruction document and needs analysis form to help with this. The form must always be used for academic appointments, and can also be used to help analyse recruitment needs for other posts.
